¶ Plugin Overview
CrystalCrypts is a server plugin which changes Minecraft's play-style via server side modifications to the game. Players may craft additional items and materials out of resources from the world. These additional components then are used for crafting and constructing multi-block machine-like buildings. The constructed structures are operable by players, have a hit point system and can be destroyed by other players.
Features a mix of exploration, construction, strategy and conquest.. Utilizing a player driven crypto based economy, with tangible items, market trading, land control and team relation management.
Implements a custom Resource Pack for rendering of new in-game items and tools.
Built entirely using Bukkit-Paper API.
¶ Base Stabilization
Players may craft structures such as a Crystal Pylon Base, which is used to setup a perimeter of protection to your claimed plot of land and manage your team relations. Additionally there are structures which act as machines, factories, turrets and crafting, which are all used to assist in automation of many tasks. Most structures require energy for usage, which may be generated by consuming fuels in a generator and/or stabilizing your power sources.
The Crystal Pylon acts as your base structure, storing energy and providing energy to other structures on request. However; The Crystal is highly violate and vulnerable. It must be managed and stabilized via Up-keep, and protected from destruction by enemies or the protection offered will cease.
¶ Crypto Resources & Hashers
Scattered across the world are special regions that players may locate using a Prospecting tool. Within these regions one may build a structure that, when operated correctly, will 'mine' certain supported cryptocurrencies from the region into credit items in-game. This is accomplished via a low level pseudo Proof-Of-Work chain running within the game server.
¶ Hashing Modules
The mining structures are used to house the hashing modules which are key in the mining of crypto from the world. The modules consume energy and run out after some time, but will mine crypto when inside a miner within a given resource node region.
¶ Improvement Modules
There are three additional types of modules (Speed, Efficiency, Productivity) which will modify the operation of some machines and factory structures. The Hashing Module may only be used within a Miner.
¶ Factional Relations
Included within CrystalCrypts is a Relational Teams based Factions control and permission management system. This is used to assist players in group organization, protection of local claimed land region and in handling of inter-player conflicts that may arise. Through the usage of Relationship statuses and grouped permission flags, the Teams/Relation feature set grants fine tuned control over what other players may do and perform when within your structures and territories.
¶ Emergent Group Dynamics
Each player has their own local team, which they are ranked as General (team owner) of. Every player is also able to become a member of or form an alliance to a team or another player. Given this, players can be within multiple teams at once and still remain control of their own local team.
¶ Relation Types
Team Generals are able to set a relation status with other players & teams, such as: Enemy, Neutral, Ally and more.. A team General can invite other players to join their team too, and assign them ranks such as Infantry, Cadet, and Officer. These relations and ranks are used to determine what actions one may or may not perform when within a territory or with a structure of another team.
